Airtel Uganda in partnership with the Buganda kingdom and partners announced the date for the anticipated Kabaka birth day run to be held on 5th Sunday Aprill, 2020.

The event held at Bulange Mengo, on Wednesday March 4th 2020, the organizers of the run also announced that the tickets had now gone on sale and officially unveiled the 2020 Kabaka Birthday run kit.

The Katikkiro of Buganda,Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga thanked Airtel Uganda for taking a keen interest in the development of Ugandan communities.

“Now that the date has been set, we encourage everyone to go buy tickets and start exercising as we prepare for the upcoming Run.

We are running for a cause and we would like to encourage men to go tested and treated as to protect the girl child”, Katikkiro asserted.

“We thank all our partners and we continue to encourage them to continue supporting the communities”, Katikkiro Mayiga added. However, Managing director of Airtel said.

“Having created a lot of awareness towards fistula and sickle cells over the past six years, we now want to shine more light onto HIV/AIDS.We call upon the Ugandans to come in large numbers and support this cause”.

Going into its 7th, the kabaka birthday run has now risen in rankings to become one of the most sought after Runs for a cause in Africa. Under this year, s theme , Men against AIDS to save the girl child and running for the next three years, the Kabaka ‘s Birthday run will be focusing on driving awareness about HIV/AIDS and encouraging men to get tested and treated .

Nakabazzi Gaturida and Omubejja Mazzi Nabalonga aged 83yrs based in London and Wakiso also confirmed to run the 7th times. “I came back from London for Kabaka’s birth day run and am going to participate in the my 7th times, and am encourage all Ugandans to come and kits to participate in the Kabaka’s birth day run, as I will be happy to see the people I know participating in the run “, Omubejja Mazzi noted.

The Kabaka run annual event celebrated to mark the King’s birthday run and is a part of a partnership that the telecommunications giant has with the Buganda kingdom to sponsor four of their most important activities; the Kabaka’s birth day run, Kabaka’s birth day celebration, the Kabaka’s coronation as well as eid EI Fitrl , Masaza cup and Buganda kingdom football tournament.
