Vipers Sports Club has swooped on in the services of roving left-back Richard Matovu, who previously played his trade with Arua Hill SC.
The fast-rising Matovu saw out his contract with Arua Hills at the end of last season.
Kitende will now be home for Matovu for the next two years as per his employment contract that runs until 2025.
With Arua Hills, Matovu earned 47 Uganda Premier League caps across two seasons.
“I am very excited and can’t wait to work with the group,” Matovu said after his unveiling this morning.
“Things didn’t pan out as I would have loved and when Vipers came calling, it was a no brainer for me to move. I am happy the deal got done.”
“I am buzzing to be here and can’t wait to get going. It is a beautiful challenge that I am delighted to be a part of. I hope I can steer the club to more glory.”
In the previous campaign, he managed 25 appearances in the league, as he guided the Leopards to fourth with 44 points.
“I am here to be part of what the club wants to attain but as an individual I want to show the fans my real potential and ensure the club is successful.”
Matovu is expected to compete for a starting berth with the already existing park of Isa Mubiru and youngster Enock Luyima.
Before playing for Arua Hills, Matovu featured for BUL FC and Kyetume FC in the Uganda Premier League.
