Today, this morning the Fortebet Real Stars monthly awards awarded four sports disciplines instead of five which were meant to be awarded for the best sports personalities who excelled in the month of January.
The 9 year old table tennis player Joseph Ssebatindira lead the list after walking away with accolades and envelope as the best table tennis player for the month of January after winning the World table tennis youth contender U-11 and U-13 in Doha.
Grace Nabaggala , who was the only lady on the podium won the Rugby category after helping the Ladies Cranes sevens to finish fourth in Dubai challenger event.Nabaggala ,is a Kisubi Pacers player.
Colline Batusa , won the Hockey category after scoring one goal in the League against KHC Stallions and made an assist towards Maxwell Mugisa’s goal. Batusa, also scored one goal of the four Weatherhead scored in the Uganda Cup final against Wanachi to stir his side to a double victory.
He also finished third overall League top scorer with 31 goals behind teammate Thomas Opio at 32 and Jordan Achaye in first place with 34 and also finished as the League’s MVP.
The last winner of the day was, Kamada Ntege commonly known as Sure Fire who won the Boxing category after ABU East and Central Regional title after defeating Ali Hamis Muzei from Tanzania.
“Basajja banno aba Real Stars baddala era bagende mumaaso n’omulimu gunno”, which translated that these people of Real Stars monthly awards aer real and let them keep that spirit of awarding the best sports personalities every monthly, Sure Fire states.
