Uganda Cranes defender Nicholas Wadada has signed a new one year contract extension with Tanzania’s top flight side Azam FC.

The right-back is understood to have signed a one year contract extension that will see him at Azam until 2022.

His initial contract was slatted to expire at the end of June 2021.

This was confirmed by the club on Saturday.

“We are happy to inform you that we have reached an agreement to enter a new one year contract with our right back Nicholas Wadada.” Announced Azam FC.

Wadada had been at Azam since the summer of 2018.

He joined them as a free agent after his contract with Vipers SC expired at the end of the 2017/18 season.

He has had a strong stay with the Tanzanian outfit, tying down a starting spot at the right side of their defence.

This season, Wadada has already been directly involved in five goals, scoring once and assisting four times.

Azam are currently second on the Tanzanian Premier League log with 26 points gathered from 13 games. They are nine points behind leaders Simba SC.
