Residents in Kawempe demand for more government masks

Some of the local leaders in Kyebando parish, Kawempe division tells us that masks provided to them by KCCA are not enough making the distribution exercise difficult.

Local leaders were expected to start distributing the masks on Friday last week as was communicated by KCCA, which received 2,067,500 masks from government last week. 

In May President Museveni announced government’s decision to provide masks to all Ugandans aged 6yrs and above to control the spread of the corona virus disease.

The masks were delivered to parish heads who supposed to pass them on to local council leaders and Village Health teams for door to door delivery to residents.

Chairman Nsooba zone in Kyebando parish Ssebambulidde Joseph explains the masks are enoough according to the population in his arae.

The Vice chairperson Erisa zone, Nsamba Patrick notes that the exercise is moving on well.

Lord Councilor Kawempe North Kintu Khalid has asked KCCA for more masks in the area due to the big population there.
