President yoweri museveni has called for a special cabinet meeting now at state house Nakasero.
The meeting is comprising of a few ministers and the covid task force under the prime ministers office.
Its said the meeting to discuss a way forward on still locked down institutions and to decide on which to open.
Among the still locked down institution are worshiping places, bars, clubs businesses that used to operate in markets selling non food staff, schools and others.
If a goes well, president yoweri museveni is expected to address the nation on covid this Saturday.
