Uganda Netball Federation AGM to be held at Sky View Hotel in Fort Portal

The Uganda Netball Federation Confirms that they have taken their Annual General Meeting Upcountry and will be held on Friday 24th February 2023 at Sky View Hotel in Fort Portal.

Remember, it is the 2nd Annual General Meeting since the Embattled Leadership led by Kityo Sarah Babirye entered office.

The 1st which was held at old Kampala ss, has since Caused a stir with National Council of Sports.

Then, Executive members like Paddy Muhumuza (Vice President Technical), Aminah Mandy (Assistant General Secretary) and Yahaya Ssengabi(Publicity Secretary) were all Suspended.

It was the Same Annual General Meeting (AGM) that also Voted to ban former President Susan Anek from all Netball activities.

In a recent brief by National Council of Sports (NCS), Chairman Ambrose Tashobya Said that all that was Passed during the AGM was null and void because they were done under a Court Order period.

The National Council of Sports Urged the federation to reverse their decisions, including Construction review and Suspension of members.

However, it remains known whether the federation has invited the National Council of Sports (NCS) for this Friday’s function.

On the menue, the members will vote to Admit, Readmit, Suspend, Expel or ban any member association or official.

They will even Consider if any proposed amendments, receive financial report and for the president will present the Executive report.

The Uganda Netball Federation has also been at loggerheads with NCS after President Babirye Accused Dr. Bernard Ogwel of asking for kickbacks from government funding.

Sarah Claimed that Ogwel asked her to account for Shs425m yet she had received shs186m for the Pent series and Africa Netball Championship in November 2021 in Namibia.

Gerard Ogwel reported the matter to police and investigations have been held including CID officials reportedly Visiting the Netball offices last week.
