Super Lightweight boxer Latib Muwonge beats Tanzania’s Albano to win ABU Title

Super Lightweight boxer Latib Muwonge yesterday beat Tanzanian opponent Albano Clement by unanimous decision after 12 rounds punch to bout to capture the Africa Boxing Union belt at the New Obligatto in Kampala.

Ratibu Muwonge, known as dancing rasta became the fifth Ugandan professional boxer to win African Boxing Union (ABU) title after Joe Vegas Lubega, Abdul Tebazaalwa, Michael Kizza and Badru Lusambya who won them before.

The Uganda Professional Boxing Association credited Muwonge for his great work and ambition. The boxer’s tally now stands at seven bouts unbeaten, since he joined the professional ranks.

Ratibu, who started boxing career at zzana boxing club, is now aiming at becoming the World Champion.

“It was just time to become ABU Champion and now aim for bigger” Ratibu, states.
