KCCA FC See off Mbarara City FC to qualify to the Quarter Finals of the Stanbic Bank Uganda Cup

KCCA sailed through to the Quarter Finals of the Stanbic Bank Uganda Cup following a 2-1 over Mbarara City in the game honored on Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

 Mato Rogers and Kakonde Tshisungu Simon netted in either half to grant the Kasasiro Boys passage through to the last eight and joined the class of big boys of this season.

Kitegenyi Henry scored the only goal of the day for the Ankole Lions which wasn’t enough to take his side to the next level.

Mato opened the day’s account with an instinctive left-footed effort in the 2nd minute of the game before Kitegenyi leveled the matters eight minutes to the break.

In the 65th minute, Kakonde linked superbly with Allan Okello before the former brilliantly slotted in the second, which was also the evening’s winner.

KCCA have now kept their dream of a domestic double alive, as they also lead the proceedings in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. They have joined clubs other premier League like Vipers Sports Club, Express FC, Bright Stars and BUL FC who are already in quarter finals of the 49th edition of Cup tournament.
