After finding the champions of the five divisions that make up Kampala Region yesterday, the Region’s organizing committee held the draws on Thursday at Kibuli Secondary School.
Each division was represented by two top performers and they were drawn in two groups of five.
The group stage games will kick off on Monday 03rd April 2023 and will be played on six Grounds, that’s Kibuli Secondary School, Kakungulu Memorial playground, Mengo SS, Kawempe Muslim SS and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga and Lubiri SS.
Nakawa Division was represented by Kyambogo College and Concerted College, whereas, Kawempe District is represented by, Champions, Kawempe Muslim SS and St Mary’s Heritage College Bwaise, Champions, Kibuli Secondary School and Buziga Islamic will represent Makindye District, Kampala Central District representatives are, Champions, Old Kampala SS and Kololo High School, while, Lubaga District is represented by Champions, Uganda Martyrs High School and Lubiri SS.
Group A comprises; Old Kampala SS, Kibuli Secondary School, Kyambogo College School, Lubiri SS and St Mary’s Heritage College Bwaise.
Group B comprises; Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga, Kawempe Muslim SS, Concerted College, Kololo High School and Buziga Islamic Theological Institute.
The Division Qualifiers had 30 schools that took part in the 2023 season.
Two teams will qualify from each group and make it to semifinals. Group stage games will be played between Monday and Wednesday next week and the opening fixtures will be played at Kibuli Secondary School and Kakungulu Memorial starting at 9:00am.
Old Kampala SS will be taking on Lubiri SS at Kibuli while, Kibuli SS will be up against Nakawa giants, Kyambogo College at Kakungulu Memorial playground.
The top four will gain the automatic qualification to the 2023 USSSA national football boys final tournament that will be held in Mbarara City around May.
