The 2023 tournament climaxing on Easter Monday, netball defending champion Ngando SS Wamala Butambala set to meet on final with the hosts, Kawanda SS B to decide the new tournament netball giants
Ngando ss, are the 2018 and 2019 Netball champions of Umea games after winning it at Nkoma ss Mbale and at kasawo Islamic ss Mukono respectively.
The team which seems to be changed a lot has won all games from the first game of the group stage on Friday.
Ngando SS defeated Hamdan Islamic in Quarterfinal before beating Madina Islamic 32-27 at semis also played today at Kawanda.
Ngando ss captain, Takia Kabuye, a senior five student doing arts with a combination of ALI/ICT, told our reporter, Juma Ali that their our plan is to retain the trophy because this trophy belongs to them.
“I don’t see any threatening opponent here that can stop us from retain the trophy.”Takia added.
Najib Kivumbi, a school director, said that covid 19 destroyed everything but we are regaining now.
“We are already conquered UMEA Netball competition and now are aiming at doing the same at the USSSA national schools netball.”Najib said.
Meanwhile, to reach the final, Kawanda B defeated new improved side, Greenlight Islamic High school 20-16 goals at quarter final round before stopping giants, Kibuli SS at Semi final.
Both team has produced brilliant performances along the way to final despite Ngando SS looks like having a slight upper hand in a final which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 9th April 2023 at Kawanda SS.
