Express FC coach James Odoch has demanded more effort from his players to push the former champions into the StarTimes Uganda Premier League top-five finishers as consolation for this season.
Last week, Express were ejected by FUFA Big League side Adjumani TC (2-0) from the knockout Stanbic Uganda Cup.
And the Red Eagles, as Express FC are fondly nicknamed by their fans, are currently in a distant ninth position (with 29 points from 22 games) in the league, which means they cannot win any silverware this season.
“We got a point which is not a bad thing however we wished to get all the three points. We will build from this point gained going forward to see we come back even stronger on Friday (April 28),” Odoch stated after Express shared spoils with Bright Stars in a 1-1 draw on April 25.
On Friday, April 28, the Red Eagles will host Wakiso Giants at the Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.
It is a game that Odoch wants his boys to win and keep the momentum in their objective of finishing the top-five.
SC Villa leads the 15-team log with 43 points from 23 games, followed by KCCA FC (41 points) and defending champions Vipers (39 points) in second and third positions respectively.
