Kawalya football & Netball tournament 2019: Masiro fc wins Kasubi parish.

Kawalya football and Netball tournament is organised and funded by the Lubaga North Lord Councilor and area member of parliament aspirant Abubaker Kawalya.

He is targeting tapping and promotion of talented people in his area, being born, raised and resident of the area, he hopes that this tournament can be a platform where sports men and women can be seen and taken to an other level .

This tournament is organised annually and this the third edition, its organised on parish level where by each village in a certain parish in Lubaga north constituency present a team to compete with in their parish.

A total of 54 teams registered in football this year, each team was given a set of jerseys and a ball before the kick off of the tournament. The 4 semi final teams in each parish receive an extra set of jerseys and other prizes depending on the performance.

Champions of every parish are entitled to a trophy, Gold medals and a bull, where the 1st runners are up for silver medals, and a he goat and 2nd runners walk away with a he goat.

Top goal scorers and MVPs of every parish are also awarded with prizes.

Kasubu parish finished their Kawalya 2019 football tournament on Saturday 13th July when Masiro fc emerged champions after beating Kawaala fc (4-2) on penalties after 0-0 all draw in the finals held at Kataka playground in Kawaala, Team No Jokes and Youth Path Academy were 3rd and 4th respectively, and they were given all their prizes and awards at a function presided over by former Katikiro of Buganda Owek. Dan Mulika together with Lubaga division chairperson Owek Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwaawo.

Nakulabya parish is the on going having kicked off today.
