Sessazi’s late winner revives NEC FC promotion hopes as FUFA Big League remaining with one game

The FUFA Big League Matchday 29 climaxed with victories amongst promotion contesting sides however Kitara FC and Mbarara City FC have secured top tie slots in the coming season

NEC FC scooped a narrow 2-1 victory over Kyetume FC to keep their promotion hopes alive in a game played at Coffee Ground in Bugoloobi.

Sulaiman Sesazi was the hero of the day having found the back of the net close in the added minutes of stoppage time to double the lead for the army side.

NEC FC was lucky enough to capture the three points having come from down with Tony Kiberu’s 65th strike and later versatile skipper Sulaiman Sesazi doubled the lead for the Bugoloobi based outfit.

Kyetume FC will have to blame themselves for not containing their lead having been up at the break however lost all points in the last stanza.

Meanwhile, Kitara FC and Mbarara City FC have secured top tie slots for next season however still waiting for either NEC FC or police FC to fill the third slot.

In the games played last evening on Thursday 11th may, 2023, table contenders Kitara FC triumphed over relegated Adjumani TC FC on 3-0, Police FC prevailed 1-0 over Booma FC while Mbarara City scooped a comfortable 2-0 victory over Kaaro Karungi FC and Lugazi FC shared spoils in a 1-1 stalemate against Kataka FC.
