Vipers SC move to the top of the Uganda Premier league table after a goalless stalemate with relegation threatened Onduparaka on Friday at Greenlight Stadium.

Alex Isabirye’s charges are currently level on points with second placed Villa, both on 46 points but the Venoms have a superior goal difference.

The two sides currently separated by a single point with third placed KCCA FC who will move to the summit if they maximize points against Express FC in the early kickoff game at Luzira Prisons grounds on Saturday. KCCA have played a game less.

Vipers came into this contest after a 1-0 defeat to Bright Stars at Kavumba.

Returning Yunus Sentamu had a decent chance to fire the visitors into the lead but failed to convert Isa Mubiru’s perfect cross in the first period.

He also had another chance in the closing stages of the game but again failed to hit the target.

Emmanuel Oketch had the hosts best chance in the second period when he forced custodian Fabien Mutombora into a decent save.

Meanwhile, Onduparaka remained bottom placed with 16 points and eight adrift of safety. They will visit Maroons at Luzira Prisons grounds in the next game.

Vipers will host Express FC at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende in their next fixture.
