Expiry doesn’t mean that the course is no longer relevant.
It only means that the NCHE has taken long to review the content taught due to their negligence and irresponsibility.

This is what must happen:
Every after a given period of time the National Council for Higher Education(NCHE) must sit and review the content taught in these courses for purposes of being at par with the key global developments and then after list those courses on their website as updated courses in line without the global developments and that is why every student in higher institutions of learning pays annually shs 50,000 to cater for such activities.

So the Actual problem is this
The issue is not accreditation, it is negligence by NCHE to update the content about the courses taught hence making them expired. But the problem is that any student with that course on the website that reads Expired can’t join any European University and perhaps other serious institutions of learning across the world hence making headlines in the names of not accredited.

But this word Expired is what shocked people who didn’t know what it means in this case.
This is our concern really why these paid people of NCHE forget their roles till such unnecessary headlines happen yet it’s a simple thing.
Actually it is these people of NCHE themselves whose heads and Brains are expired to the extent of leading the whole country into such chaos!!

Bristol university that discovered this, however across Europe it is Cambridge University who does this screening in Uganda owing to the fact we are a British Colony

The chairperson NCHE, Prof. Eli Katunguka claimed that they don’t have shs 60 millions to do that work, in my opinion, then let them prepare billions as compensation costs to the concerned students once they are taken to court

I therefore appeal to the NCHE boss to call a press conference to clarify when they are going to update it before it causes more damages.

Note: NCHE does not review alone.

The university reviews it’s curriculum then submits it to Council which goes through the process until it is successful.

Once it is successful, then NCHE updates it’s curriculum.

For example, in 2021 some Universities reviewed their LLB curriculum, went through the process which ended in 2022 and they now have a new curriculum but the NCHE website still shows that the program is not reviewed, it shows that it’s expired which exhibits the highest level of negligence and irresponsibility by the Council.

I also urge Universities have to be alert to start the review process before their programs expire because NCHE work hand in with Universities.
