Woodball League: Prisons leading as the first round ended

On Saturday, 10, June 2023 the first round of the woodball league marked an end with games being played MUBS Nakawa sports ground.

Prisons Woodball Club is leading the table of 13 teams in the ranking with 28 points from 12 games.

While Apita Daniel Olima of Prisons Woodball Club is leading the player ranking singles as per the 11 games he has played, he managed 10 wins, 46 fairways won, 29 fairways drawn and 49 fairways lost.

Whereas, Suuna TimothyTwesigye Edison of DIGEL Woodball Club leading the player ranking doubles with 9 wins, 56 fairways won, 20 fairways drew and 35 fairways lost from 11 games played.

The League second round is expected to return in the middle of July.

At the closing of first round,  Collins Semanda,  the General Secretary Uganda Woodball Federation said that, so far the league is moving smoothly and we hope for the same in the second round.

Mr. Ssemakula Mukibi,  the Uganda Woodball league chairman appreciated the media for the good coverage of the game and also thanked the clubs and players for honouring the games.

For the one month period break, transfers have been opened for any player willing to move other team.

Meanwhile the Woodball national team is set for the residential camp in preparation the the forthcoming World Cup.

The general secretary Uganda Uganda Woodball Federation, Mr. Collins Ssemand has told the journalist about the arrangements of the national team that, on 21, June they will officially enter the residential camp for 30 days for the world cup preparation. According to Ssemanda, the national team players will be flagged off for residential camp by NCS.
