The round of 32 of the 49th edition of the Bika By’Abaganda Football tournament completed on Wednesday successfully with some shocking results.
This round was played on Tuesday and Wednesday on four grounds that determined the 16 who will be pitted into four groups of four teams each.
Ngabi Ensamba shine as defending champions Ndiga eliminated at the round of 32 of the year 2023 49th edition Bika Bya Baganda football tournament.
By the round of 16, the tournament will be seeking for the new champion after the shocking elimination of the reigning champions Ndiga.
Former Uganda Cranes international Sula “Malouda” Matovu netted a hat-trick for his clan Ngabi Ensamba whereas, veteran striker Dan Muzeyi Sserunkuma and Reagan Mpande’s goals were not enough to secure the one time champions Ndiga clan from early exit at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku on Wdnesday.
Meanwhile the seven times champions Lugave clan clashed Nkerebwe 5-1 to progress to the round of 16, thanks to goals from Ezekiel Katende, Sharafah Mukiibi who both scored a brace and another one from Ivan Katende, while Godwin Ssemugabi netted a consolation for the losing clan Nkerebwe.
Lugave clan who lost to Ndiga clan in the final of last edition will now enjoy the group stage games.
The inaugural Shield winners, Mbogo clan had a walk over at this level since their opponent in Namugoona didn’t show up at the venue and the 2019 champions secured a place at round of 16.
The 2018 champions, Nkima could not make it to the round of sixteen after losing 1-0 to Ffumbe. Muhammad Senoga Kagawa scored the only goal for Grandchildren of Walusimbi.
Derrick Mboowa scored the only goal that propelled Mpindi to round sixteen and sent Ngabi Nyunga back home to prepare for next year.
Mutima Muyanja thumped Mazzi ga Kisasi 6-1 at Kawanda SS while Kobe humbled Njovu by 4-1 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.
On Tuesday, Omutima Omusaji via spot kicks eliminated Mmamba Namakaka 4-2 following a one all draw at Kawanda SS

Empindi, Omutima Omusagi, Omusu, Olugave, Ngaali, Engo, Ensenene, Mbogo, Engabi Ensamba, Engeye, Effumbe, Ekinyomo, Ekkobe, Engoonge, Omutima Omuyanja and Nvuma.
