Hijrah Presentations by Muslim Pupils at Winston day and boarding Primary School Kawempe

Following preparations for Idi Al Adhaa for the Muslim fraternity around the world, Muslims do the pilgrimage visit to the holy land of mecca perform the 5th Pillar of Islam as the way to repent their sins and honour the almighty Allah.

The Muslim pupils of Winston day and boarding primary school, Kawempe have on Monday 26 June 2023 made presentations following the steps Muslims pilgrims perform during Hijra in mecca, Minah and Madinah.

They started at Mikati where they dressed up from, and proceeded to rotate around kabar as they sited Muslim hymns, then walked between swafah and malua, as they demonstrated what takes place there.

They then moved to Jamarat which is the first pillar in Islam and paused at Minah for prayers.

After prayers, Muslim girls and boys moved to mountain Arafat where they continued with prayers and listened to a sermon from their imam.

Then walked to Muzdarifah where they picked the stones to be thrown to shytwan and slept there for one night.

They then moved and threw their stones at Jamarat, from where they moved and rotated around the Kadar for the second time.

According to the presentation, after rotating around Kadar for the second time, the pilgrims moved back to Mihati where they shaved their hair and cut off their nails to prepare for animal slaughter (Udhiyah).

Headteacher Winston P/S Ms. Jane Nyawere

The headteacher Winston day and boarding primary school Ms. Jane Nyawere has appealed to parents to join the school to make sure they train their children more about their religions even when they are at home, so that they can raise God fearing children.
