Uganda Wooball Federation will be conducting the President’s Cup for the 4th year consecutive at Nambole Stadium on Sunday July 21, 2019 between 9am – 3pm.
This year’s president’s cup will be aimed at making Woodball a team sport. On that note therefore, we shall have team competitions only then reserve Singles & Doubles events for other UWbF calendar Championships.
25 Men’s teams and 17 Women teams have confirmed participation at this year’s Presidents Cup in both Corporate & Senior Categories.
Some of the teams to watch include; Proway Woodball Club, MUBS, Ndejje Corporate, URA, and Cipla Quality Chemicals, Zoe Woodball Club in men, whereas; Kisubi Corporate, Stroke Woodball Club, Ndejje University, KIU and UNEB might out stand in Women.
Last year’s President’s cup edition took place during the UWbF 10th Anniversary Cerebration at Nambole Stadium that saw Cipla Quality Chemicals claiming both the Men’s & Women’s trophies in Corporate Category. Where as in Seniors Category, Stroke Woodball Club won in Men and Ndejje Corporate Seniors won the women’s trophy.
In Singles events, Fred Turyakira of Mamita Standard Mbarara won Gold for Men, as Mariam Nansereko of Ndejje Corporate won the Women’s Gold in Corporates. Mugume Watson of Stroke and Currently at KIU won Gold for men, as Nanjeru Denise of Stroke Woodball Club clinched the Women’s Gold in Seniors.
The President of Uganda Woodball Federation Mr. Paul Mark Kayongo is the chief guest and will be awarding the trophies to winning teams for both seniors and corporate categories by 3pm Nambole Stadium.
