Azam FC 0-1 KCCA FC
The Uganda Premier League side defeated defending champions Azam FC 1-0 in a close contest final game played at Kigali Stadium, Nyamirambo.
Left back Mustafa Kizza scored the only goal of the day at a hour mark which the Kasasiro boy had to hold on up to the final whistle for Ugandan who traveled in few numbers to celebrate.
KCCA FC are winners of Kagame CECAFA club 2019, the first in 41 years and second for Uganda premier league champions on record as they last had won this competition way back in 1978 during the days of Paul Ssali,Philip Omondi,Tom Lwanga among others in the final again which was against an other Tanzania club Simba SC, KCC FC by then won 3-2 on penalty.
Mike Mutebi’s side which was tipped emerge champions by coach Mutebi before the tournament kick off, dominated the proceedings but were blunt especially in the first half before Kizza scored in the 62nd minute.
Allan Okello scored in the 6th minute but the referee disallowed the goal for a foul in the build up.
Having crowned CECAFA 2019 champions, bags players and club a lot of money as FUFA President and newly elected CAF Excom Member Eng. Moses Magogo promised USD 1000 (UGX 3.7m) for each KCCA player beforr game.
Eng. Magogo made the revelation during his visit to the team at Hiltop Hotel in Kigali City Saturday evening, just hours after his arrival from Cairo.

The winners take home USD 30,000, first runners up USD 20,000 and 3rd place winners USD 10,000. The Prize Money is a donation from Rwanda President Gen. Paul Kagame.
