Uganda Prisons Service passes out 20 Intermediate and Staff Command Course officers

The Uganda Prisons Service has on Friday July 7th passed out 20 Prisons Intermediate and Staff Command Course officers at a colourful ceremony held at Luzira Prisons Academy and Training School.

The ceremony was presided over the Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs Maj. Gen (Rtd) Kahinda Otafiire, as Chief Guest.

The Intermediate Command and Staff Course is meant to enhance the middle line manager‘s knowledge, skills and attitude towards effective and efficient implementation of operational undertakings.

The journey towards achievement of UPS mandate and mission and contribution to national development necessitates continuous scaling up of the capabilities of human resource at all levels of operations.

The aim of the Prisons Intermediate Command and Staff Course is meant to equip participating Prisons officers to advanced intellectual and practical approaches to correctional services with a view of augmenting the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.

Uganda Prisons Service is a government Agency mandated To provide safe, secure, and humane custody of offenders while placing human rights at the Centre of their correctional programmes.
