“NO one will be favoured concerning the security reason”, those were the words from the Ludo federation President Mr. Hussein Kalule during the security and licensing meeting held on Sunday 23 July 2023 at Nabweru, sub county headquarters in Wakiso district.
Mr. Hussein, said he was called by security people in the country raising concerns about two teams, Wakiso team and Kampala central Ludo using people who are not good at all and they are threatening the security in the country.
According to the president, there some teams which play Ludo at illegal time, that’s wrong time and Ludo is supposed to start at 2:00pm up to 9:00pm and beyond that, penalty will be attracted and this will affect the team in terms of finances.
“We want to clean up the Federation by throwing out lazy people who cannot work for the goodness of our game”, Kalule Hussein added.
The meeting was also attended by Wakiso district security officials and Wakiso district Ludo leaders.
Mr. Farouk Mutendwa, GISO Nansana division, said that it’s necessary to carry out this in order to distinguish between good people and bad people who involve them selves in the game of Ludo.
Mr. Mike Mukasa, Vice president of Uganda Ludo Federation who is also the chairman Wakiso Ludo club has also added his voice to that of the president saying that it was necessary to conduct this meeting to clean and clear all bad people who get involve in our game.
Mr. Silva Birungi, the DPC Nansana police station, said that they cannot allow bad people to associate in the game.
The meeting was attended by 39 members and it was all about sensitizing people about the impersonators and teams performance for Wakiso district interest of the game as well as documents renewing and games participation is concern for the forthcoming new season.
