CITY TYRES BOOST USPA TOWARDS THE 2023 ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN

On Tuesday 1 July morning, Mandela Group of Companies through it’s brand City Tyres have boosted USPA with a cheque and a number of items towards USPA road safety campaign scheduled to take place on Saturday 5 July 2023 in Lugazi. City Tyres presented a cheque worth five Uganda million shillings to USPA president Moses Alsaayed Lubega, 100 T- shirts to be used by USPA members and other community members on the day, 100 reflector jackets to be given to boda boda cyclists, balls to be used during the sports competition, wheat flour to be given to community members and the trophy which the winner will walk away with.

The USPA road safety campaign is always organised annually to remember the lives of fellow sports journalists, Kenneth Matovu, who was 26 years and a sub sports editor at New Vision, Simon Peter Ekarot, who was 27 years and a sports writer at New Vison, Leo Kabunga, who were just 40 years old and a sports writer at New Vision and Francis Batte, who was a deputy sports editor at Daily Monitor and all died on the scene immediately after the accident at Kikaula in Lugazi.

The deceased, were coming from Jinja where they had a USPA executive meeting and on return to Kampala, they eventually follow into accident at around 1:40 pm.

According to Herbert Bashasha, marketing manager at Mandela Group of Companies, said that it’s a honor to partner with USPA for now 13 years and appeal to other companies to come on board to support USPA in this noble cause.

Moses Alsayed Lubeg, USPA president thanked City Tyres for the good cooperation and urges them to continue supporting USPA. Lubega went on to appeal to Ugandans to purchase products made by Mandela Group of Companies.

The USPA road safety campaign 2023 programme will start on Wednesday 2 July [Tomorrow] with a mass prayer for the late at Christ The King Church Kampala starting at 9 am and the campaign will come to it’s climax on Saturday in Lugazi with a lot of activities to be done during the day which include, zebra crossing painting, football games, riding competition. This is the 13 year we appeal to all Ugandans to continue drive safely because life is precious.
