Brazilian striker Giancarlo quits Vipers SC just after two months stay at the club

Brazilian striker Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez has announced his departure at Uganda Premier league side Vipers SC.

The forward confirmed his departure on his social media platforms, stating that;

“Unfortunately for personal reasons of a single person, today I say goodbye to the club, very sad for not fulfilling my goals here but believing that God always has his purpose. I leave my hug and my support for the team and I hope that you can achieve all the club’s goals.” Said Giancarlo.

The Brazilian striker joined the Venoms on a two year employment contract in July this year.

He became the first Brazilian player to feature for the Kitende based side.

At Vipers SC is remember for his free kick strike over Maroons FC in the FUFA Super 8 Pre-season tournament.

Giancarlo started his career at Ferroviario, EC Vitoria and later to Treza FC in 2014 both of Brazil.

He also turned out for Sao Caetano, Santo Andre, Macae, Rio Branco-AC, Ferroviario (second short stint in 2015), and Sousa in 2016 before leaving for Guarani-CE later that year.

In 2017 as a free agent, Rodriguez joined Villa Nova, which he left in December that year for America-RJ.

In 2019, he joined Petaling Jaya City FC in Malaysia for a short stint from where he joined Indonesia side PSM Makassar in January 2020.

In December 2020, he joined Bangladesh side Sheikh Russel before returning to his native for União Cacoalense-Ro.

Meanwhile, Vipers SC are set to sign former Express FC striker Erick Kenzo Kambale.
