SC Villa has announced changes in club’s day to day running team, the Uganda Premier League record holders, have ushered in a new era with changes in their Executive ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The club officially confirmed these changes in an announcement made on Wednesday afternoon at their headquarters on Sixth Street in Industrial Area.

Among the key changes, included William Nkemba who has been confirmed as the club’s Chief Executive Officer, replacing Isaac Mwesigwa who left the club following a short period in that role.

The General Secretary of SC Villa, Nziraguhunga Khasim, shed light on the motives behind this strategic restructuring, emphasizing the club’s commitment to reclaiming its former glory.

“We started this journey two years ago to rebuild and bring back Villa to its glory and to make sure it stays there,” stated Khasim.

“Our first task was to concentrate and build a team with the support structures it needs to thrive.”

“This came with numerous changes around the team administration, all with an aim of stabilizing the team.”

As part of these significant changes, former Police FC chairman Asan Kasingye has assumed the role of SC Villa Spokesperson.

Kasingye, an Ex-Com member at the club, brings a wealth of experience to his new position.

In another key appointment, SC Villa legend Sam Mubiru has been appointed as the Vice President technical.

His deep understanding of the game and the club’s culture is expected to have a positive impact on the team’s performance.

Furthermore, Hajji Salim Ssemmanda has taken up the position of Vice President Mobilization and Fans, succeeding Ben Misagga, while Journalist Sarah Adong will play a pivotal role in Women’s Affairs within the club.

These changes coincide with the confirmation of two legends, Ali Kayongo and Geoffrey Bukohore, as the team manager and Coordinator, respectively.

Their invaluable contributions to the club over the years make them ideal candidates to guide SC Villa to a brighter future.

The Jogoo are in search of what will be a record extending 17th league crown, having narrowly missed out on the league title in the previous season.

Villa finished third, with 52 points from 28 games, just one point behind eventual champions Vipers and second-placed KCCA.

The Jogoos surrendered their two-point lead on the final day of the season with a 0-1 loss to URA FC.

The upcoming season offers a fresh start for Villa who kick off their season at the Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku, where they will face newcomers Kitara FC on Friday, September 15.

The SC Villa administration now stands as follows:
