CSCA CROWNED OF 2023 UGANDA OPEN TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONS

CSCA taekwondo club emerged champion for the three days Uganda Open taekwondo championship which was held at Sharing youth centre,  Nsambya. The event which started on Wednesday ended on Friday with excellent performance from the various competitors.

Eighteen Ugandan Taekwondo Clubs and two clubs from Kenya took part in the ninth edition of the Uganda Taekwondo Open Championships that started on Thursday 14 September and ended yesterday at Sharing Hall in Nsambya.

This year’s event is aimed at preparing fighters for the East African Taekwondo Championships that will be hosted by Uganda in December.

CSCA Taekwondo Club are the champions of the Taekwondo Open Championships after wining two gold medals and a silver in boys, girls juniors and senior women respectively.

Coast high kick,  kilifi from Mombasa Kenya was the most sprited teams of the tournament.

Some the fighters who performed well during the tournament include; Shafic Oloya who won gold in fin weight junior,  Steven Omala who won gold in bantam junior,  Jonah Otim,  won gold under 8 years,  Danielle Atim,  won gold under 50 kgs,  Sharifah Aroma, from CSCA won silver.

CSCA coach Ochake Samuel,  said that enough preparation for almost 3 months earned them championship.

According to Marvin Baryaruha,  the president of Uganda taekwondo federation,  said that he was well convinced with the performance from the competitors and the organisation with good.

The winners were given trophies and medals.
