Church of Uganda refutes news of Dismissal of the Chancellor of Namirembe Diocese, Mr. Frederick Mpanga

Church of Uganda have on Thursday, 5th October 2023 at around 8:330PM issued a Statement Regarding the allegations of dismissal of the Chancellor of Namirembe Diocese.

On this matter, the Church has learnt of media reports alleging the dismissal of Mr. Frederick Mpanga, the Chancellor of Namirembe Diocese, by the House of Bishops during their sitting.

The Church therefore categorically refute these allegations, regarding them as false, unsubstantiated and clearly intended to generate unnecessary public distress.

“We strongly advise that they be disregarded with the contempt. “the Church tweeted.

“We wish to inform you that the nomination process is ongoing, and the House of Bishops made recommendations that the Provincial Secretary will communicate to the nominations committee in due course. We kindly ask for your prayers and request that everyone. Remains calm during this time. “Added.
