Following the successful climax of the second edition of Kampala International Future Series where Uganda the hosts won 13 medals, another international event has served off today, Thursday 5, October, 2023 at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Uganda International Future Series served off today with qualifying events.

The tournament that serves as the 2024 Paris Olympic games qualifiers has attracted 26 Nations that include; Uganda the hosts, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Poland, South Africa, to mention a few.

180 players are to take part in the event, 100 ate men while 80 are Women.

On either genders 24 players are directly ranked in the main draw while by the end of today, eight players shall join the 24 from qualifying rounds to reach the round of 32.

The round of 32 shall take action tomorrow, Friday while the event shall get climaxed on Sunday 8th October 2023.

Uganda’s hope will be lied in Brian Kasirye who registered two gold medals in recently concluded Kampala International Future Series though he is tasked to out compete America’s Howard Shu who is in the best male ranking position among the players at this tournament and Muzafaru Lubega, Expedito Emuddu are among the male players expected to put up a good show.

The September Real Stars monthly award best Badminton player, Husina Kobugabe, Tracy Naluwooza, Gladys Mbabazi are among the women Uganda is looking up to if it’s to get a medal in women category.

Meanwhile, Eleven Ugandan passes the test to reach the round of 32.

The day one of the Uganda International Series has seen Host Uganda dominating the qualifying rounds,
Out of 16 qualifying slots for both men and women Uganda has secured 10.
Ugandan women has took 7 of the 8 available slots to qualify for main draw.
Hashni Hirani, Hashita Singh, Musa Maliha, Betty Apio, Belinda Nabbumba, Ruth Nakawooya, Ramiah Bukenya joined Husina Kobugabe, Gladys Mbabazi, Fadhira Muhammad Rafi, Tracy Naluwooza, Vivian Nalule, Jovia Athieno, Lillian Achiro, Kruthum Nalumansi and Assumpta Owomugisha.
Uganda men took 3 out of 8 with Ahmed Oduka, Alyaan Mawani and Akbar Oduka finding Brian Kasirye, Muzafaru Lubega, Abdul Swaburuh Ssempiri, Kenneth Mwambu, Abed Bukenya, Amos Mayanj…
