The King of Buganda His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has called upon the public to be committed to the work that develops their Kingdom and the country, through promoting their spirit of love towards their country and the people around them, as the elders in the kingdom took it on since the past, through bulungi bwansi.

According to His majesty’s speech being read by the Nalinnya Lubuga Agnes Nabaloga, during the bulungi bwansi commemoration at our lady of consolanta Bweyogerere parish, Sabaddu subcounty kira, the King stressed that Bulungi bwansi spirit helps people to work together to develop their country and the love for people around them, as this helped to develop the kingdom since Buganda people used it.

His Majesty as well appealed to the Buganda chiefs at different levels to protect the kingdom leadership so that they can work towards the country’s development. He also commended the bululngi bwansi activities that the Buganda team engaged in for the last one week which has helped to promote cleanliness among people.

The King commended Bulemeezi County for the commitment towards serving the Kingdom since it emerged the best county among all the Kingdom counties.

In her own words, Nalinnya commended whoever made it to join the kingdom commemorate the bulungi bwansi, especially the children who made presentations for the day.

The Katikkiro of Buganda Owek Charles Peter Mayiga challenged County chiefs to emulate Kabaka Tembo who kept the County headquarters clean and maintained the cleanliness standards. He warned them that he will not officially open any dusty county headquarters which does not meet cleanliness standards expected.

He noted that Kabaka Tembo initiated the bulungibwansi work through making the saagala agalamidde drum which promoted work among people at that time, which as well needs to be emulated by the present leaders, as a way of discouraging laziness among the people they lead, and work so hard to fulfill the work as assigned by His Majesty the King.

However, Owek Mayiga cautioned Buganda chiefs to work under the guidance of the Kingdom but never to work on their own, but to work towards the kingdom development. He appealed to the chiefs to promote unity, hard work, protect land and Buganda boundaries and work towards achieving the kingdom federal as well as encouraging people to protect, defend and keep the kingdom throne.

He congratulated Mituba 4 Kawuga Kyaggwe subcounty for emerging the best subcounty towards commitment in serving the kingdom as it has emerged the best subcounty for two consecutive years. Owek Mayiga also appealed to the people to work hard towards protecting the country so that it can maintain the standards of being the pearl of Africa.
