The specialist in charge of Mukono church of Uganda hospital Doctor Simon Nsingo challenged people to be aware of cancer which is becoming a problem among men, women, and all people without discrimination.

He noted this during the confirmation service and celebration of St. Luke’s day at St. Luke church of Uganda Nakifuma Parish, Bukoba Archdeaconry, mukono diocese, where he gave Christians health tips about cancer.

Doctor Nsingo highlighted about the different types of cancer that people need to be careful with, noting cervical cancer, breast cancer, cancer of the ovaries, lung cancer, cancer of the liver, skin cancer and prostate cancer among men. He therefore appealed to people to make use of health checkups so that they can monitor their health to avoid falling into cancer traps. He stressed that doing more exercises, eating fresh fruits, and staying away from smoking and to avoid taking alcohol helps to reduce the risks of contracting cancer.

While preaching during the service, the Bishop of Mukono diocese the Rt. Rev Enos Kitto Kagodo challenged people that as they celebrate St. Luke’s day, they need to ponder on the goodness of the lord and cautioned Christians to know that they move with their enemies but to pray that the Lord keeps changing the enemies hearts.

Nakifuma parish priest Rev David Kaggwa noted some of the parish achievements such as strengthening the youth leadership, renovation of the church and the Reverend’s home, and above all, they are focusing on the parish project of completing the shops that are aimed at getting income to support the church activities.

The Bishop’s wife Maama Catherine Kitto called upon all Christians to work together in serving the Lord since it is the responsibility of all of them to fulfil the Lord’s calling.

During the same service, the Bishop officially launched the Bukoba Archdeaconry intercessors, many got saved and Christians contributed 800,000 shillings towards buying of the mission van and 2, 000,000 shillings in pledges.
