The Vice Chancellor of Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Prof Celestino Obua has today (Friday) been appointed the new chairperson of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) by the minister of Education and Sports, First lady Janet Kataha Museveni.
He replaces Professor Mary Okwakol, who had been steering the position since 2014.

During the inauguration ceremony, Minister of State for Higher Education – Hon. John Chrysestom Muyingo, alerted the new chairperson (Obua) regarding the new responsibilities and the anticipated challenges that come with the position.
Prof Obua’s Background
Prof Obua assumed position as MUST Vice Chancellor in October 2014. Prior to that, he served as the Deputy Principal of Makerere University College of Health Sciences.
The don holds a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD), obtained from the University of Dar es Salaam. He also holds the degree of Master of Science in Pharmacology, obtained from Makerere University among other qualifications.
