The Retired Bishop of Mukono Diocese Bishop Eria Paul Luzinda has challenged believers always to stick to God in whatever challenges they go through so that they can escape the challenges and temptations of devil.
He noted this during the memorial service for the Late Rev Canon Steven Kisekka at St. Phillips and Andrew in Mukono Diocese.
Bishop Luzinda noted that people who don’t stick to God stand high chances of being tempted by the devil and they fall into traps of being misled into evil deeds, which is the leading cause the evil acts going on among people in the societies.
The 4th Retired Mukono Diocese Bishop and the caretaker Bishop of Luweero Diocese the Rt Rev James William Ssebaggala praised the late Canon Steven Kisekka for being a responsible father who raised his children into responsible beings.
The Widow to the late Canon Kisekka Margret Nayiga Kisekka has extended gratitude towards the people in the church who have stood with them in the challenging time ever since Canon kisekka was sick until his death. She noted that family friends have been there for them and comforted them, which has made them strong.
On behalf of the orphans, Daniel Ssebuguzi praised their late Father for standing with them in every situation as a responsible father and appreciated Christians for standing with them during the challenging time. He as well appreciated their mother for looking after their father until the end of his life.
Rev. Can. Stephen Kisekka was born on 26/12/1953, He went to Bishop’s West P/S, Luzira Mpanga p/s Nyenga Kigudu. He later joined Kampala Modern Secondary. After school, he joined Lint Marketing Board, and later got married to Margaret Nayiga on 13/07/1974.
In 1982, he joined Namugongo for priesthood classes, and started serving Nateete C/U in 1983, Katikamu C/U in 1984-1989, Luteete Church of Uganda in 1990-1993, Nakanyonyi Church of Uganda in 1994 -1997, Nakibizzi Church of Uganda in 1998 -2000, Kangulumira C/U in 2001 – 2002, St.Paul Namuyenje in 2003 – 2005.
He later retired in 2018 and joined farming.
The Main Celebrant was the 5th Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt.Rev.Enos Kitto Kagodo.
