Rangers Gear up For 17th Inter-Forces Games

The 17th Inter-forces Games and Championship commenced today, Monday November 20th 2023 at Kigo’s Sport Range grounds.

The 2023 Armed Force games have commenced with a three-day practice at Police shooting range grounds, Kigo, where 265 sharpshooters from UPDF, Uganda Police, Uganda Prison and Uganda Wild Life Authority loaded for an intense showdown.

The session was officially commissioned on Monday, 20th, November, 2023 by Senior Commissioner of Police (SCP) Frank Mwesigwa, marking the first event of the 17th edition.

These rangers will take part in the 17th edition attracting 85 from UPDF, 65 from Uganda Prisons Services, 55 from Uganda Wildlife Authority and 60 from hosts Uganda Police Force.

SCP Mwesigwa emphasized the importance of taking the competitions seriously, as marks will be awarded based on individual performance.

He further urged all the participants to adhere to safety and technical instructions so as to avoid mistakes.

The 17th Edition of Inter-forces Games 2023 hosted by the Uganda Police Force was officially flagged off by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Tumusiime Katsigazi on Friday November 17th, 2023 at a ceremony held at Police Headquarters Naguru, which also marked the beginning of events spanning from Saturday November 18th to December 1st, 2023 at Kigo Range Grounds, Police Training School, Kabalye, and Masindi Stadium.

The event runs under the theme, “Fostering Wellness and Interagency Cooperation through Sports for a Safer and Secure Uganda.”
