The Equal Opportunities Commission has cautioned the Luwero district leaders to endavour monitoring and supervising district employees so that they can fulfil their obligations towards the communities they serve without putting money first.

The Equal Opportunities Commission being led by its Chairman Hajjati Safia Nalule Jjuuko met the leaders of Luwero district to check the progress of the service of the district leaders towards its people without asking for money from them, and as well look through the district budget.

Equal Opportunities Commission fights hard to elliminate descrimination, unfairness and inequalities based on gender, background, the societies people come from, as well as their abilities .

Hajjati Safia Nalule expressed concern over the youth who are getting lazy both physically and mentally therby calling upon leaders to wake them up starting right from the local leadership through encouraging them to work so that they can fight against poverty among themselves.

She as well challenged district leaders to keep an eye to schools that charge alot of illegal money from parents and sited Headteachers in goverment schools that charge parents UNEB regestration fees yet the government pays for the candidates in such schools.

However Hajati Nalule expressed dessatisfaction over goverment employees who keep asking for money from people for service delivery yet most of government services are meant to be accessed for free, which has made people lose hope in goverment services.

Luwero Deputy CAO Martin Yiga appreciated the Equal Opportunities Commission for siting sensitive issues in the district and noted that the mentioned issues are to help them check themselves and correct the mistakes that they have been doing during their service. He reported that they are challenged by some of the workers who dont fulfill their duties in time which burdens other workers while completing each other assignments.
