The Opposition Party Forum for Democratic Change is to hold the first National Council for the new executive on 15th December 2023 which is aimed at deliberating on the state and the way forward of the party.

Addressing the press at party Headquarters in Najjanankumbi, the party spokesperson John Kikonyogo stressed that after the meeting in Nabinonya, the party embarked on sub regional conferences equipping their leaders with new leadership skills to move the party forward and they are continuously engaging party leaders in different regions throughout the whole country. This is on going in regions such as Mbaale, Busoga, different districts in Acholi, and they expect to have over 10 MPs from Acholi region in the next elections.

He added that at the moment, the sub regional conferences is a movement that is not aimed at looking for new party supporters but make the party firm so that by next elections, it will have enough members to stand for the party at different positions.

Kikonyogo also revealed that the party president and the party Secretary Gen left the country to Washington DC in USA to attend the International Democratic Union summit where they will get a chance to meet the Party’s donor partners and political partners in the diaspora and revamp FDC chapters.

Kikonyogo added that revamping the chapter is away of helping the party to get good representation in those countries as this will help the party in future.

However, about the conflict that has for sometime been going on within the party, Kikonyogo expressed that the party faction at the party headquarters is very willing to welcome all its members who wish to settle the conflicts and return to the party. He noted that even if its members wronged the party, threw bad light to the party, and ashamed the party in any way, they have forgiven them and welcome them back to their party.
