FDC President and General Secretary attend the IDU in Washington D.C

The FDC President, Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat, and Secretary General Rt. Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi, alongside other global political leaders, are attending the 40th Anniversary of the International Democracy Union (IDU) in Washington D.C.

IDU is a global alliance that brings together over 80 political parties that subscribe to centre right political philosophy and ideology. The FDC is a long standing member of the IDU alongside other centre-right parties across the world.

Yesterday 06/12/2023 as part of the 5days IDU Forum, Ghana’s President H.E Nana Akufo-Addo delivered a keynote speech on ‘A New Vision for Africa.’ His message resonated strongly with the audience and presented a clear direction on the way forward for the African people.

The event also hosted former US Vice President Mike Pence who represented the Republican Party. In his speech, he emphasized support for freedom, democracy, and human dignity. Other speakers who addressed the Forum included; Hon. Stephen Harper the Prime Minister of Canada, Hon. Newt Gingrich the Speaker of the House of Representative of the US among others.

At the sidelines of the Forum, the FDC leaders held a meeting with Ghanaian President H.E Dr Akufo-Addo, Jamaican Prime Minister H.E Andrew Michael Holiness, waho also doubles as the leader of the Jamaican Labour Party, and the Hon. Richard Holden, Chairman of the Conservative Party who is also the Member of the British Parliament.

The Discussions aimed at strengthening bonds between FDC, the UK’s Conservative Party, Ghana’s New Patriotic Party, and Jamaica’s Labour Party and creating the annexes for exchange of ideas in pursuit of mutually beneficial programs.

The FDC supreme; Party President and Secretary General are on a Party mobilisation expedition in Europe, ostensibly meeting donor Partners, reviving, strengthening, and opening up of new Diaspora Chapter’s in a bid to grow the influence and the horizon of FDC far and wide.

The FDC continues to present itself as a party of choice and a model Party both locally and internationally.
