Masaza cup team officials warned over violence ahead of quarter final games.

The chairman technical of the Masaza tournament organising committee Mr. Kirumira Festus highlighted on the challenges attained in the group stages of Masaza cup 2019 tourment, in the committee meeting shared at Masengere building Wednesday 21st August 2019.

After the final group round matches in the Airtel masaza cup 2019, the committee shared a meeting with the vice chairman Mr. Sam Mpiima, secretary Mr. Nsanja Patrick, team managers and security officials  to insist on the slight changes made for the quarter finals and semi-finals which kick off on Saturday and Sunday this week.

“Disunity among the host and the away teams, harsh security officials, time delay of the matches and some teams didn’t allow the away teams to do warm up at their grounds, those were the major challenges affected us in the tournament though some benefits are also attained like putting better performance to every team according to previous year”, Festus  highlighted.

He also insisted that rules should be followed in the quarter and semi-finals.

“Eight teams qualified for the quarter finals and each team is supposed to play two matches, home and way at respective grounds, at this stage we need only one team from each tie, that is after 180 minutes there the winner will progress to to semi finals, in case of a draw in every thing there will be a extra time of 30 minutes, 15 minutes for each half and then spot kicks if they remain tied.

Note: the second leg will start at exactly 3:00pm not at 4:00 pm as the first leg”, Festus noted.

The chairman of the Masaza cup Mr. Sulaman Ssejjingo call upon the team mangers and their officials to stop insighting violence because it chases away and limits sponsors in the tournament.

He also promises the releasing of the checks tomorrow for each team to enable smooth running of the team and apologize for the delay of the money.

Eight teams qualified to quarter finals stages; Buddu, Ssingo, Bulemezi, Ssese, Kyadondo, Kyaggwe, Busiro and Butambala.

The Quarter finals first leg will be held on Saturday24th and Sunday 25th August, Buddu will be at home hosting Butambala whereas the on form Ssese will be at home in Lutoboka hosting Busiro and Kyadondo will play host to Ssingo at Mukono Bishops SS grounds and Kyagwe will be hosting Bulemeezi, then return leg on Sunday 1st September 2019.
