The Prime Minister of Eswatini and team meet Katikkiro Mayiga

The Buganda kingdom Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga has hosted the Prime Minister Mr. Russell Mmemo Dlamini and other delegates from Eswatini kingdom in Bulange Mengo on Tuesday January 23rd 2024.

Katikkiro Mayiga conveyed greetings from His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II to the Eswatini King Mswati III. “The king told me to inform you that the kingdom of Eswatini is a brother kingdom of Buganda kingdom and the Eswatini King is a brother to the buganda King.” He noted

During their meeting, the Katikkiro expressed the need for the kingdom to have its federal system, the kingdom development and Uganda as a country, which is to be achieved slowly by slowly.

He has revealed the importance of the cultural leaders in Buganda kingdom, other kingdom chiefs and leadership at different levels in the kingdom that the king have appointed, whom he said have worked hard for the well being of the Kabaka’s people.

Owek Mayiga pledged on behalf of the kingdom to work together with the Eswatini kingdom to uplift the well being of the people in both kingdoms. However, he noted that if the kingdom carries on its work under the federal system, the money earned from Buganda Kingdom can be used for the development of the Kingdom and the country.

The Eswatini Prime Minister Russell Mmemo Dlamini noted that the development that is desired in different aspects of life in Buganda and Africa should be achieved peacefully in unity.

This meeting was attended by Prince David Kintu Wasajja, Prince Daudi Chwa, Prince Frederick Walugembe, Buganda kingdom Ministers such as , Owek Joseph Kawuki, Owek Anthony Wamala, Owek Cotilda Nakate Kikomeko, Owek Israel Kazibwe, Owek Patrick Luwagga Mugumbule, Minister of foreign affairs in Eswatini Kingdom and members of the prime minister’s delegation, state Minister incharge of Kampala Kabuye Kyofatogabye and others.
