BUGANDA ROYAL INSTITUTE GRADUATES 1379 STUDENTS AT ITS SILVER JUBILEE

Buganda Royal Institute of Business and Technical Education Mengo has today, Thursday January 25th 2024 graduated 1,379 students in various levels of education at the Institute’s 18th graduation Ceremony attracted by many distinguished guests, parents, Students and friends.

The year’s graduation ceremony came when the Buganda Kingdom owned tertiary Institute of Education marks celebrating its 25 birthday (silver Jubilee).

This the first of the new Principal of the Buganda Royal Institute, Oweek Joseph Balikuddembe Ssenkusu who took ranks from Owek. Wamala Anthony who was taken to the Kingdom cabinet last year. the joyful principal once again thanked the Kabaka for Choosing him for that position and he promised to serve with all his mind.

The graduation show 706 boys and 673 girls with 491 graduated with diploma while 732 acquired Certificates and 156 where for Directorate of industrial training (DIT).

16 graduates passed with first class and Jesca Namakula emerged the best student with 4.89.

While speaking to the graduates the chief guest, Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has advised the students to first get employed so that they can acquire knowledge and the skills so as to start their own businesses.

It was on this Celemony, Hon. Nyombi Thembo, the new Executive Director of Uganda communications Commission (UCC) who was a special guest, has thanked the King of Buganda His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II for his efforts in education by establishing such Institutions, and urged the graduates not to bother about their books at various levels but implement what they learnt so that to achieve better future.

Mr. Thembo has also pledged to further support the Buganda Royal Institute Technology department with the state-of-the-art equipment which will help to foster and further train students in technology.

He concluded by urging the graduates not to be selfish but to continue with fashion in fulfillment of the King’s directive of Non-Proliferation.
