The retreat is bringing together Directorate Staff from the Provincial Secretariat (climate justice, gender and social justice, monitoring and evaluation, program accountant and communications) and heads of affiliate institutions; Lweza Training and Conference Center (LTCC) and Bbira Vocational Training College (BVTC).

Achievements of the Directorate for 2023 include, a successful learning visit of all Diocesan HCT coordinators to the Diocese of Kinkiizi, signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Uganda National Oil Company on climate justice (planting one billion tress in Uganda), Africa Climate week cleaning activities in Nakulabye in Kampala, launching of the 16 days of gender activism with an awareness walk in Namuwongo in Kampala, and a successful 7th graduation ceremony at BVTC.

According to Rev. Andrew Agaba, the Directorate is committed to continued lobbying and advocating for new partnerships and establishment of projects and programs to champion the Church of Uganda’s self-sustainability agenda.

“I am grateful to God for all our achievements for last year and I believe we shall do better this year. There were definitely some challenges but those were handled technically. We learnt from them and we now look forward to achieving Church of Uganda’s vision of being a faster growing, sustainable Christ-centered Church,” Rev Agaba said.
