FDC mourns Namibia’s fallen President

The Universe woke up to yet the sad news of the falling of another illustrious son of the African soil ,an astute politician and President of the Republic of Namibia H. E. Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob at Pohamba Hospital in the Namibia’s Capital Windoek.

A hero of liberation struggle against apartheid South Africa and colonial Germany. Geingob was the third President of Namibia from 21 March 2015 until his death on 4 February 2024.

He was the first Prime Minister from 1990 to 2002, and served as Prime minister again from 2012 to 2015. Between 2008 and 2012 Geingob served as Minister of Trade & I industry. L, he has been replaced by the Vice President Nangalo Mbumba.

The FDC Party extends deepest condolences and sympathy to the family ,the First Lady H.E Monica Geingos, the Leadership of the Governing Party SWAPO , the Leading Opposition popular Democratic Movement (PDM) led by Rt. Hon. Henry Mc Venaan and the people of Namibia at this critical moment of mourning.

He was a believer of a united Africa and strongly promoted the continent’s voice and visibility at the global stage.

According to Fdc, his death has come at the time when Namibia is due to hold general elections scheduled for November 2024 after the elapse of his two constitutional terms. We must hail him for not following he African despots whose appetite to cling on the Presidency is very high to the extent of changing the Constitutions. President Geingob respected the Constitution and left behind a towering legacy.

May God give the People of Namibia strength and courage during this difficult period.
