The Archbishop of the church of Uganda His Grace Dr Samuel Steven Kazimba Mugalu has toured the projects at Nabumali High school which are aimed at developing this school to get back to its glory.

During the tour, His Grace noted, “It’s been a joy being back to Nabumali High School in a space of 11 months. When I visited the School last year, I pledged to be part of the advocates for the restoration of its lost glory. There is a lot happening and I was glad to commission and tour a number of projects.”

The Archbishop expressed concern that It’s very unfortunate that the School has time and again been among traditional Schools earmarked for general renovation but to date no such activity has taken place! Dormitories, laboratories, and staff houses need serious attention and urged the Ministry of Education and Sports to pick serious interest in this.

According to the Headteacher, Mrs. Margaret Nabudde, Nabumali H/S started in 1912 by Missionaries (112 years ago), the school has 728 students: 340 Boys and 388 Girls (exclusive of S.5 class) with 46 teachers on Government payroll, 25 not on payroll and 64 non teaching staff with only 4 on Government payroll.

“Nabumali High School as one of the oldest traditional Schools needs to be given special attention in Human Resource and Infrastructure for it to regain its lost glory. I thank the Old Students under Nabumali Old Students Association (NOSA) for their tireless efforts to revamp the School. I am delighted to be an honorary member.” The Archbishop stated.

He extended gratitude towards Bishop John Wilson Nandaah of Mbale Diocese for his commitment to revive the School, the Head Teacher, Board of Governors, PTA, Staff and Students for their team work.” Together we achieve more.” He added.
