Kampala University 0-1 Nkumba University.

Nkumba University capitalized on Benjamin Nsubuga’s own goal to get in advantage over Kampala University.

The goal was a result of deadly back pass which cought goalkeeper Brian Ozelle following Isaac Musuga’s cross from left flank halfly cleared by Badru Ssewankambo to find Nsubuga who fired it to his goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the play.

At the moment Nkumba University through tactician Sulaiman Bossa decided to change the games approach to get back of the ball to keep the lead.

Despite the host tried to stay penetrative and their major chance to level come and gone when they failed to convert from spot won by Gilbert Wanuume in 59th minute and Tony Ndesse pushed the effort off the goal.

Kampala University continue pressing doing all to level the game but nothing came until final whistle blow to confirm Nkumba University as the Semifinal first leg winner.

In the post match media chart Kampala University coach Tumusiime stayed optimistic over over turning the game on Tuesday next week (02 March 2024) at Nkumba “we have seen our opponent now we know what to do we have played the better football but it was just a mistake and that is football”

On other hand fellow coach Sulaiman Bossa said “we still have a job to do, it is yet done now we can cerebrate the win because our game plan succeeded but not too long since we still have a big task ahead, our opponent really gave a good test we need to improve our game the next time we play them”

Having returned to the University football league competition on Board room decision it seems Kampala University is stepping to the next exit.

In another Semifinal tie Uganda Christian University(UCU) is in square with Makerere University Business school (MUBS) after the first leg and their return leg is coming on Thursday 28th March 2024 at UCU Campus Mukono.
