Bishop Wilson Kisekka consecrated as the 4th Bishop of Luwero Diocese

The President of Uganda His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni expressed the need for church of Uganda to work together with the government for the country’s development.

In His message which was delivered by the Minister of roads and transport Gen Katumba Wamala during the consecration of the 4th Bishop of Luwero diocese Bishop Wilson Kisekka, at St. Mark Cathedral in Luwero, President Museveni promised to donate a car to Bishop Kisekka to help him ease transport as he serves God and the people of God. Gen Katumba handed over 50 million shillings from the President to the new Bishop also to help him with his service.

In his message that was delivered by the Speaker of the Buganda Lukiiko Owek Patrick Luwagga Mugumbule, the Katikkiro of Buganda Owek Charles Peter Mayiga pledged on behalf of the Kingdom to maintain good relationship with the church as it has always been.

The Archbishop of the church of Uganda Dr.Samuel Steven Kazimba Mugalu who led the consecration commended the acting Bishop of Luwero diocese The Rt. Reverend James William Ssebaggala for promoting unity among the christians during the period he has been a care taker of the diocese, after the then Bishop of Luwero diocese Can. Godfrey Kasana was nullified few days to his consecration.

Bishop James William Ssebaggala who has been the Luweero diocese care taker for 8months noted that settling the differences in the diocese has been so challenging and urged Christians in the diocese to work together for the development of the diocese.

While preaching to the congregation, the Bishop of Central Buganda Diocese The Rt.Rev Michael Lubowa called upon Christians in Luwero diocese to put aside the differences they have and work together with the new Bishop for the smooth running of the diocese.

The new Bishop of Luwero diocese the Rt.Rev Wilson Kisekka noted that during his service, he is to embark on environmental conservation, improving the health and education system among others.

Bishop Kisekka is the 4th Bishop Luwero Diocese after Bishop Elidad Nsubuga.
