We need to embark on action Federal system, Buganda Premier Mayiga challenges Kingdom leaders

In abid to lead Buganda kingdom to meaningful development, Leaders in the Kingdom have been challenged to put emphasis on action Federal system so that they can smooth run the kingdom activities.

While officially closing the Buganda Kingdom Leaders retreat at Muteesa 1 Royal University in Mengo, the Katikkiro of Buganda Owek Charles Peter Mayiga noted that emphasizing federal system in action to the people of Buganda through encouraging them to engage in agriculture, farming and educating their children is the only way that indicates hope for the kingdom future development.

Owek Mayiga stressed that the Kingdom is yet to attain the law federal system and appealed to them to be strong in their leadership especially looking at fighting hard against poverty among the kingdom people.

The second Deputy Katikkiro of Buganda Owek Robert Wagwa Nsibirwa advised Buganda Kingdom Leaders to work towards forming SACCOs as it will help them get to the development they want.
During the retreat, the kingdom leaders specified 9 new ideas that will be followed during the running of the kingdom activities in all the departments in 2024.

These ideas were passed by the Minister of games, sports and talents in the kingdom Owek Robert Sserwanga Salongo and they include:

Good feeding and storing enough food.
Fighting against accidents on roads through training bodaboda riders how to use road signs and translating road signs to luganda.

Putting emphasis on village birth attendants as one way to fight the spread of HIV/AIDs
Improving health systems in schools

Putting emphasis on men infections
Fighting against drug abuse

Acquiring modern machines in Kingdom hospitals

Emphasising family planning especially in villages

Setting up training centres for medical workers in Kingdom health centres.

The sectors that need to be improved were presented by the Deputy Kaggo Phiona Kalinda and they include, more training in health needs among the people around all the Kingdom counties such as doing exercises, hand washing, health insurance, availing people with results after testing to enable them be aware about their life conditions, and strengthening the use of health camps through the kingdom collaboration with the ministry of health in the central government.

This retreat spent 2 days at Muteesa 1 Royal University Mengo under the theme:
Shifting from Project system to Programs system in the Kingdom through emphasizing action Federal system.
