Ssenyunja’s blockbuster hands Kyadondo a narrow win over Bugerere

Central county Kyadondo opened Airtel sponsored Masaza cup 2024 on high note.

Isaac Ssenyunja scored a thunderstorm left curling shot after the mark of 10th minute inside second half.

The game was played on dry even in front of the biggest crowd which is been usual in recent times of Kyadondo’s matches.

Following the win, Kyadondo head coach Medi Nyanzi sent serious message to next opponent. “It has been a hard game since I am new on team, it is my first team with this beautiful team. My team played well. Now the next mission is Buddu, I won’t give them any chance am going to prove them How good I am and how Kyadondo is good”

Kyadondo was on front foot and Bugerere Goalkeeper Ashiraf Bwabye was the best player on his side while goal scorer Ssenyunja was the man of the match.

Elsewhere Kyaggwe picked a crucial win on road to Gomba in their season opener through Ivan Kalyowa and Isaac Ofoyrwoth goals in a 2-0 win over record champions.

Mawogola also started on positive note beating Kooki 1-0, Kabula beaten Ssese 1-0, Busujju also travelled properly to Busiro where they won 1-0 while Buwekula and Ssingo played barren draw.

Earlier on Saturday Butambala defeated Buddu by 1-0 while Buvuma played a 1 all draw against Mawokota.

The competition shall return to action with match day two as Bululi hosting Butambala, Bulemeezi shall visit Bugerere, Buddu shall host Kyadondo.

Ssingo will play their home opener hosting Gomba, Kooki shall host Buwekula while Kyaggwe will be open their home journey against Mawogola.

Ssese will host Buvuma, Mawokota shall host Busiro and Busujju will be at home welcoming Kabula.

Games shall come on Saturday July 6 and Sunday 7 July scheduled with 8 games out of 9 Match day two.
