On 16 August 2024 Express FC is up with official return to Nakivubo with a friendly match against Kenyan football giants AFC Leopards.
Over 30 year on road since the Uganda’s oldest football club vacated Nakivubo for Wankulukuku but finally they have confirmed the return.
Like Express FC being the oldest club also Nakivubo is the Oldest football stadium in the country marking 100 years.
With a new structure in place dubbed Hamz Stadium Nakivubo war Memorial following billions renovation which took years.
Express FC was the top qualified club among the seven bids made by clubs to host matches at Nakivubo as the head of stadium board explains
“We had seven bids but at first we wanted a team with rich history of Nakivubo and that is how Express FC became the best option, Hamz Stadium is going to be co host for both Express FC and URA FC which had a nice proposal”

“We are not here to try but we are hear to stay, a lot of clubs wanted here but we were chosen, and Hajj Ham recently affirmed being and Express FC fan, all former Express FC greats in governance are back to support the club, on top of that we were given a shop on free to run club’s machandise”

16 August will not be only marked with a return but also Express FC is scheduled to have their season launch unveiling Technical staff, Players and Jersey.
All those activities shall come in follow of the friendly match which will kick off at 7pm as they test night football.
Tickets for the event will go for 20,000 (ordinary) VIP is 50,000 and VVIPs will pay 100,000 only sold at the entrance as per information present.
Express FC returns to Nakivubo since theirh departure in 1990 and took first match at Wankulukuku on Thursday, 26th January in 1991against Kenya’s Livertex. Express FC won 1-0.
Last season Express FC finished 12th on 32 points.
