Factors that caused ugly scenes in Kyadondo, Buddu game

The game between Kyadondo county and Buddu is growing by including anti sporting activities.

On Sunday 25 August 2024 following the games which ended prematurely Kyadondo fans decided to roadblock Buddu fans some meters from Homesdalen school.

During the attack some Buddu fans got seriously injured and allot of car damage where observed.

The game which was moving in a sporting manner with high level of competition until the 84th minute of the play when it was squaring 2-2 in the middle of second half.

At that moment refere Henry Musisi decided to award the visitors Buddu a penalty as a result of Marvin Praise Wambuga claimed handball while blocking Pius Ssebulime’s shot.

The penalty was first opposed by Kyadondo play but later conceived a sports manship discipline to walk off the penalty area in attempt to allow the penalty taken.

That was the moment fans refused to take it led by two men worn in traditional wears the same men which were seen before stopping Kyadondo fans from celebrating their team’s equaliser on the pitch after Disan Mubiru making the score 2-2.

Few minutes the two men who are expected to be the witchdoctor for Kyadondo entered the playing area from the extreme end of the pitch followed by other fans.

In a second the pitch was filed by Kyadondo fans in opposing the penalty causing armed forces into the pitch firing teargas and a Bullet in a force to remove them from the playing area.

Kyadondo had fought from two goals down after falling to Michael Weraga and Regan Kirumira goals inside the opening ten minutes but Isaac Ssebyunja pulled a goal back for Kyadondo before halftime.

The referees appointing committee appointed the same referee who was in quarterfinals clash that ended in disbelief last year.

Referee Henry Musis didn’t think about the game situation before awarding the penalty which came few minutes after Kyadondo claim on a handball inside Buddu penalty area.

Stewards didn’t do enough with the situation starting with two men who watched the game inside the called perimeter fancy behind goal at the moment where Kyadondo was scoring.

The men walked around 10 meters into the pitch then followed by other one who jumped over the fancy and others followed to walk from different angles of the ground towards the referee.

Ignorance of football rules as it was the attempt to stop the game most of the fans was at thinking that if the game ends before the penalty their 2-2 result will stand and considered games result and they were heard claiming.

Administration didn’t expect any miracle from the penalty but it was just a penalty which was able either to be scored, saved or miss fired that is why some look shut with fans intervention while others tried to control the situation when it was already worse.

That was not the only game that was stopped prematurely also Ssingo against Kooki also ended in 70th minute with referee awarding penalty to host Ssingo and the visitors refused to take it by deciding to intervene into the pitch standing on their until full time clock.

The games made it three games to be stopped in the Same was having experienced the some issue from previous game week with a clash between Mawogola and Buwekula.

The organising committee went on to award Buwekula 3 points and 3 goals which is expected to be the same case in these two games but this is living the competition in with a bad image.
