Masaza Cup 2024: Busujju, Buweekula joins Kabula and Ssingo in quarterfinal with two round to climax group stages

Busujju and Buwekula over the weekend managed to reach 16 points from 8 round of group stage to join Kabula and Ssingo in the first knockout stage of the 2024 Masaza cup.

Busujju is in Masengere group with Kabula who progressed on match day 7 while Buwekula is in Muganzirwazza along with Ssingo who also used 7 rounds to progress.

Kabula is leading Masengere on 19 points three ahead of Busujju after 8 games while Ssingo is leading by a point with a game less ahead of Buwekula.

This is following week 8 outings where Busujju defeated Ssese 2-0 thanks Eddie Mulwanyi and Arafat Murugeta for the goals scored at Kakindu on Sunday August 25.

On same note Kabula who came into the weekend already qualified didn’t give out chances by defeating Busiro 1-0 with Patrick Mutebi scoring the goal  while in the same group Mawokota won over Buvuma by 1-0 courtesy of Ashiraf Kigozi’s goal.

In Muganzirwazza group Buwekula picked a point. Which was enough to send them into the next stage advantaged on the 0-0 draw against Kyaggwe in a game played at Mubende National teacher’s college.

Buwekula went into the games in jubilation after receiving three points and goals boost from the abandoned game played against Mawogola last weekend.

Buwekula is now at 16 points behind Ssingo who did add on their  17 points which they entered the games with following the  abandon of the game against Kooki and therefore they are in waiting for the technical rule.

At this stage at Buwekula and Busujju Sitting on 16 points on Bugerere is the which can reach 16 points by winning their remaining games.

 Even if Buwekula and Busujju don’t win again they will stay assured of the quarterfinal slots beating Bugerere for their better goal difference

In the same group record at least smiled for a win over Mawogola at Kabulasoke, The 3-1 win was the second for Gomba after 8 games.

Gomba who entered the game with only a win over Kooki at Kabulasoke , got their second win at home through Jeremiah Rwotho brace which followed Felix Wafula’s goals while Nasulu Kagimu scored for Mawogola.

The win guided Gomba off the Bottom of this year’s competition living the spot for their group mate Kooki who has 5 points as they reach 7 points.

The other group is Bulange where progress seems to go on wire with Buluuli still leading on 13 points from 8 games just two above Buddu who has 7 games though Buddu expects to add more three from the abandoned game against Kyadondo.

Buluuli Lost to Butambala 2-1 in a game which costed Anthony Bongole’s job as Buluuli head coach having entered in the game on last warning.

On Saturday at Kibi SS, Buluuli took the lead first through Robert Ssewanyana while scoring his 6th of the campaign to surpuse  Irivai Mamul as top scorer.

In the same group Bulemeezi played a goalless draw against Bugerere living the defending champions continuing the bottom sit while a point help Bugerere to level the matter with Kyadondo on 10 points.
